Why use OptyBoost TEC
An engine is only capable of delivering its optimum design
performance when it is in an “as new” condition.
Whilst it is running an engine ingests significant amounts of airborne
particulates and hydrocarbon vapours that are too small to be
trapped by the air filter. This pollution coats the internal surfaces of
the air intake, turbocharger and intercooler reducing air flow to
the combustion chamber,which makes the air/fuel mixture richer.
The incomplete combustion caused by a rich mixture raises produces
higher emissions and causes exhaust gas paths to be impeded by
carbon residues. In turbocharged engines turbocharger rpm is
reduced,which exacerbates the problem by further reducing the
air flowing into the engine.
This loss of performance caused by insufficient air is compensated for
by the injection of more fuel which makes the fuel air mixture even
richer and produces even more emissions.
How TEC works
OptyBoost TEC is a proprietary blend of surfactants that have been selected
for their high temperature
stability and their low impact on the environment.
OptyBoost TEC is injected, as an atomised spray, after the air filter into
the running engine. Once inside the engine, the very fine droplets are
transported by the air so they cover any built up deposits that are
impeding air flow through the engine. The surfactants break the
chemical bonds that allowed the deposit to form and return the
harmless particulate matter back into the air flow.
Because the surfactants are stable at high temperatures some are able
to pass through the combustion chamber so that exhaust gas path
components are also cleared of any burnt fuel residues. Once the
engine is internally clean emission levels and fuel consumption are
at their lowest.

5% with an associated
